I do not know Ruby / jekyll and the current documentation looks like something from 2010x. There is a project Laika, that is written in Scala / Scala.js and can be natively integrated into sbt.

They are hosting it's own documentation with their own tool and it looks much more modern for me:

I also already have an experience with Laika on another project and configuration it is really easy as well as deploy to the GitHub Pages.

@rjurney what do you think about it? Or can we make the current jekyll-based version slightly more modern anyhow?
