What happens when post-quantum cryptography collides with real-world internet performance? In this Root Causes Podcast episode, Bas Westerbaan from Cloudflare breaks down one of the most important emerging ideas in WebPKI: 🌳 Merkle Tree Certificates (MTCs). The challenge is simple: Post-quantum signatures are big. Big enough to dramatically increase web traffic and hurt performance. The solution? Re-architect certificates around Merkle trees, lightweight proofs, and browser “landmarks” that make PQC practical at internet scale. Topics covered: ✅ Why PQ signatures create a scaling problem ✅ How MTCs reduce certificate overhead ✅ Landmark certificates vs. standalone certificates ✅ Why hashes are naturally quantum resilient ✅ The future coexistence of classical + PQ certificates ✅ What infrastructure still needs to change A fascinating conversation about one of the biggest topics in the future of trust on the internet. We’re excited to announce our partnership with F5 to deliver automated Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) across the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP). With SSL/TLS renewal cycles now every six months, managing certificates at scale is harder than ever. By integrating Sectigo Certificate Manager directly into F5 ADSP and BIG‑IP environments, organizations can automatically issue, deploy, renew, and replace certificates to reduce outages, eliminate manual work, and strengthen security across on‑prem, hybrid, cloud, and edge environments. Together, Sectigo and F5 are helping teams stay operationally resilient today while building a foundation for a quantum‑ready future. 👉 Learn more about the integration and what it means for F5 customers here: https://lnkd.in/gU82KaQe #Sectigo #F5 #CertificateLifecycleManagement #CLM #SSL #TLS #AppSecurity #DigitalTrust #Automation #QuantumReady

  • Our 47-day ROI calculator shows exactly how much time, cost, and risk you can eliminate with automation. With shorter lifespans now in effect, it's clear that manual processes won’t keep up. From labor savings to reduced outage exposure, the numbers speak for themselves. If you're looking for a business case for automation within your organization, look no further. • Digital certificates shouldn’t be a blind spot. But too often, we see businesses that have faced an outage or compliance failure due to certificates they never knew about. With Sectigo Certificate Manager’s Discovery function, organizations can gain full visibility across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, making hidden or unmanaged certificates a thing of the past. Identify rogue, expired, or misconfigured certificates before they become a risk, and take control with automated discovery, centralized tracking, and real-time alerts. The result? Stronger security, simplified compliance, and complete confidence in your certificate ecosystem. • The industry is changing, and crypto is evolving...fast. As certificate lifecycles shrink and post-quantum threats move closer to reality, organizations can’t afford to rely on outdated approaches to cryptographic management. The ability to adapt quickly, aka crypto-agility, is becoming a core pillar of modern cybersecurity. Our 2025 State of Crypto Agility Report explores how enterprises are navigating this shift, where gaps still exist, and what it takes to stay resilient in a rapidly changing trust landscape. If you’re responsible for security, IT infrastructure, or digital trust, this is a must-read. • Email is still your most powerful customer channel. But it's also your most exploited one. Phishing and brand impersonation continue to dominate cybercrime, while legitimate enterprise emails still look… generic. Even with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC in place, most inboxes give recipients no clear visual signal of trust. That’s where Verified and Common Mark Certificates (VMCs & CMCs) come in. And we're excited to announce that they're now available in Sectigo Certificate Manager (SCM). With Mark Certificates in SCM, you can turn backend email authentication into a front‑and‑center trust signal by displaying your verified logo (and Gmail’s blue checkmark) in supported inboxes like Gmail and Apple Mail. SCM removes the friction that stalls VMC & CMC adoption, guiding teams through DMARC readiness, validation, logo hosting, and renewals in one unified platform built for the enterprise. Our team members were pleased to attend the Active Cyber Defence Event hosted by SCC in partnership with NatWest and Lombard in London this week. The day reinforced a clear and urgent message for organizations: preparation for the next era of cyber risk must begin now. With many businesses still unprepared, the need for a defined, actionable strategy is critical. A highlight of the event was our own Jason Soroko’s presentation on post-quantum computing, where he shared insights into the emerging risks and the importance of early adoption of quantum-resilient security measures. Timelines are everything in the rapidly evolving world of cybersecurity, and those that win will be those that acted first. Thank you to the organisers and partners for facilitating an important and timely discussion. We look forward to continuing to support organisations as they build and implement robust cyber defence strategies. Want to learn more about our PQC evolution?
