the thing that bothers me with 7 deadly sin based characters is when they cant decide if they embody the sin by suffering from it or by drawing it out of others. ie. if your gluttony demon is a guy who loves eating then your lust demon should be a gooner sex pest. and if your lust demon is a seductive girlboss then your gluttony demon should be a 5 star chef. does this make sense.
"No doubt what they've always wanted: support for their cause."
AND THEY SHALL HAVE IT AND YOU CAN ALL DIE MAD ABOUT IT
Kind of bugs me that Cassandra treats that as some insane fringe notion that shouldn't be entertained. I swear I heard Justinia helped the mages, which is partly why the templars rebelled to begin with (not that the game bothers to talk about something as irrelevant to the mage/templar conflict as *checks notes* how it fucking started).
I suppose if I put my realistic thinking goggles on I can get why being in bed with the mage rebellion isn't the most desirable position for the new Inquisition but I don't really give a shit and also the templars are talking that "we have divine right to blah blah blah" crazy talk, why would we approach them over the mages because "well maybe they aren't all crazy"/"well some of these idiots think you're a chosen one and we can leverage that because goodness knows we can't appeal to any sense of reason or justice otherwise."
Yes yes we get cole 5 minutes earlier I know but I don't even like his introduction there and him just showing up with an injured rodrick to warn us the templars are coming feels more in line and also it's weird when Dorian does it
If I'm remembering correctly, Cassandra actually gets negative approval when you say "We could at least see what the mages want" but I could be incorrect, as it isn't popped up on this screenshot.
But regardless, we have Solas pointing at a potential method to seal the breach; it only but makes sense to have an audience with the people who have reached out to you willing to help you seal it over the templars who seem to have no such interest and utterly denounce you and Divine Justinia.
None of which would bug me if you could be a hair bitchier to people in this game.
I know there's cut content of Wynne straight up attacking you if you use blood magic in origins but I think I can squeeze Wynne into. I mean not being okay with it but staying with the Warden rather than simply attacking them, if for no other reason than to keep an eye on them.
Especially if the Warden has high approval before she finds out, I think Ms. "I've always wanted to see Tevinter" would be more okay with blood magic than she would ever let on.
And she absolutely will not ever let up on it, will not stop the lectures, will not stop comparing the warden to Uldred, if for no other reason than to prove that her mind is still hers and that she can.
Like. The fucking DRAMA. The entire concept of this forbidden art that is honestly sort of painful and dangerous to use. Ripping out her own heart while chanting. The blood and flower petals. The huge demonic summoning ring that surrounds her. The image of Gomorrah devouring her to attain ultimate power.
This is how bad bitches summon the queen of hell to punch god across the solar system into the sun.
carly rae jepsen is throwing bricks at my house but what am i gonna do, stop her?
Shes just making it stronger by increasing the total amount of bricks. Shes saving your life
Queen of throwing bricks and saving my life
Da2 does kind of move the "death magic" entropy spell, which drains life energy from dead targets, into a blood magic spell, and also adds in draining health from living targets too as an upgrade. Another concept not considered blood magic in origins.
And I've said before I like the idea that there are a lot of different spells with similar names and/or functions that are cast in different ways and based in different principals.
For example I like the idea that stoneskin in origins being this magical layer of stone around the user while in dragon age 2 it surrounds the user with rocks to give a sort of stone golem-like appearance are like...in universe two permutations of a similar base concept, it's just a difference of style.
And I've always said that the "Horror" spell as Dorian casts it is an aoe rather than the usual single target because Dorian is using spirits/spirit energy to enhance regular old entropy spells.
Anyway it's kind of fun to think that "life energy draining" and "blood draining" are technically completely different concepts/modes of casting, but results are similar, though blood draining seems to be more effective.
Of course I wouldn't be surprised if in universe, what counts as blood magic is somewhat variable, but the common theme seems to be the spilling of/use of blood, and the ability to fuck with other people's blood, e.g. the Blood Wound ability.
