The woman who was caught on the kiss cam with her boss at a Coldplay concert last summer has revealed she no longer has a relationship with him.

In a new sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, Kristin Cabot said her now former boss, Andy Byron, had lied to her.

“He wasn't the person he represented himself to be, to me—and lying is a non-negotiable for me," she told Winfrey, explaining she had cut off contact with Astronomer CEO Byron in the fall.

Cabot, who was Astronomer's HR chief, said she thought Byron had ended his relationship with his wife, and that the infamous moment at the concert was the first time they had any intimate contact.

Byron has not spoken publicly about the incident.

What Was the Viral Coldplay 'Kiss Cam' Scandal?

The original video, posted on TikTok by Grace Springer, showed Cabot and Byron embracing on the Jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts. When they noticed they were on camera, the pair moved out of view, a moment that went viral and prompted commentary from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Cabot, who previously said the incident upended her life, told Winfrey that it would not be fair for her to say outright that she felt Byron had lied to her, given what it was like to have her private life in the spotlight.

“I wanna be really careful, because the world spoke for me and on my behalf, and I don't wanna do that to somebody else and their family,” she told Winfrey.

Byron was seen in the weeks after the viral moment with his wife, both wearing wedding bands.

“I was left holding the bag—and I don’t, you know, being the one that was attacked for this and [Byron's] remained silent, to me, that's not a quality that I would look for in a friend or a partner or a boss,” she said. “So we have no relationship now.”

When Did Kristin Cabot and Her Husband Get Divorced?

In September 2025, Andrew Cabot, CEO of Privateer Rum, said his separation from Kristin Cabot was private and amicable, and that it had begun "several weeks before" the viral Coldplay kiss cam moment.

Kristen told The New York Times at the time that the moment cost her career and subjected her to relentless online abuse. She said she initially withdrew to protect her two teenage children and address the consequences with her employer and her estranged husband.

The scrutiny escalated into doxing, daily harassment and death threats, she told the Times, adding, “I got 50 or 60” threats, far more than publicly reported. Cabot said she chose to speak out so her children would understand that mistakes should not carry lifelong punishment.

When Did Andy Byron Resign?

Byron resigned from his position at Astronomer shortly after the viral moment.

Following the incident, Byron's wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, reportedly changed her Facebook profile name before deactivating the account, which had been inundated by comments regarding the viral footage.

Cabot joined Astronomer in November 2024, and Byron had previously commended her for "exceptional leadership and deep expertise" in the company's official announcements.

Speaking to Winfrey, Cabot said she felt the public reaction to the kiss cam moment had been disproportionate and unfair, with Byron receiving less scrutiny than she had.

”I own the poor decision that I made in that moment, and I've paid an unimaginable price for that,” she said.
