Update: Event Canceled

This is something I didn't want to have to do, because I genuinely love the idea for this event and I like how you all have gotten excited about it.

However, I'm still having a lot of health complications and running this as a good host is just not doable. I don't want to put all that stress on myself, and I also want to be able to run this event well. Which, I just can't do right now.

I thank you all for your interest and suggestions for the prompt list! The blog is going to stick around because maybe someday in the future I'll be able to do this, or someone else could take inspiration from this idea. (Which I am wholly happy to support.)

So, for the time being, Reverse Fluff Month is canceled. I'm sorry I have to.

Finished the museum collection in Wrothgar, and this was one of the costumes you get for the achievement. You get 3, but this is my favorite!

(Also, my game seems to be running fine after the Windows update from yesterday? Are my driver problems over?)

Wait I saw an actor au ask of Ryker being the nicest cast member and I want to share my idea.

Everyone that plays villains are the nicest people. Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Dagur being in real life best friend.

Astrid and Heather became best friends when they first met in the earlier series. They probably directed episodes together or separately.

Viggo and Hiccup having the most screen time together because they worked together before. So Viggo being an actor veteran is teaching Hiccup stuff on scene. So easy actor tension.

Ruffnut and Tuffnut being insanely serious actors in real life and they have projects already under their belt before hand.

Alvin and Stoick being the “Dad” of the cast.

I adore this! Fantastic cast dynamic we've got going here! I like the idea of Ruffnut and Tuffnut actually being serious in real life while playing total goofballs. I would watch these behind the scenes in a heartbeat.

I have this AU about Viggo/ Vigcup relating to Freudian ; Oedipus complex. It’s pretty dark and an uncomfortable topic. So feel free to discard this anonymous ask if needed.

Basically in my au, it’s kind of obvious on Hiccup’s part why he likes Viggo. He takes his father as an example; hence having Viggo as a partner.

Viggo; since we don’t know his parents canonically in show and only mentions grandfather. His parents died early, so he can only retain and remember some memories of his parents. I like to imagine that what he saw in Hiccup reminded him of his parents or one of them.

What Hiccup does translates differently to Viggo.

Of course Viggo would remember his parent(s) being kind, strict, ruthless, and feared. In some way, he saw that in Hiccup. In which in some scenes from the series that I used to headcanon, Viggo would smirk or find some amusement when Hiccup is strict around him. Like he’s enjoying it.

In reality his parent(s), which you can view it as tragic, they are hunters, yes, but they could’ve been very poor at being chiefs and terrible in dragon hunting business. It is only then when they are gone, his grandfather took over and brought the business back up and groomed Viggo into following his footsteps.

There is a bit of irony in it that I completely forgot or didn’t invest in it much to make a concrete fanfic. But yeah that is basically my AU which I wanted to share with you because I have no one to share with.

My first initial au plan was like: Viggo still longing for his parent(s) - finds the same qualities in Hiccup - finds out his parent(s) aren’t all that great in their job which was the reason why their dragon hunting business wasn’t getting off the ground before - that projection on Hiccup begins to shatter

Oh, that's actually really interesting! I know I've had the thought of Hiccup potentially connecting to Viggo in a strange way of craving connection with an older, maybe even fatherly-like figure. (Let's make that age gap more toxic!)

But Hiccup having similar qualities to Viggo's idealized memories of his parents is an interesting concept! He's also lacking in that sort of affection. I definitely see Viggo as having been emotionally neglected growing up no matter how you slice it with the living status of his parents. Alive or not, he wasn't given the care and attention he needed.

I love this actually. This psychologically fucked up guy? Yeah, let's make him worse! Thank you for sending!

Who addresses Viggo in shell shoked in the cell when the attack begins and he shouts „fools“ Ryker and his men or Hiccup and the Dragon Riders?

I'm curious as to why this is phrased like a question on a test, but if I remember correctly it's no one. He's alone in the stables at that point.

It is wild talking to people online where you'll be like "Hey, you're kind of being an ass," and they'll rant about how as a member of a marginalized community... oppression and violence... societal forces... lack of opportunity... and it's like "Ok, people who share some demographic with you are pushed into homelessness and sex work but they are not being assholes online. You are a grad student at Reed who works part-time as a paralegal and you are a real dick."

Y’all, it just hit me again that I’m being published in my first official, paid anthology!!! The book should be finished soon, actually! I’m so excited!
