Another German crush of mine- i mean, just look at him. Amazing actor too, and Das Boot is one of my absolute fave movies/best war/submarine movie ❤️❤️❤️ And his character is clearly anti-nazi, not once in the movie, you see him doing the salute or saying "Heil that mother******", he respects leaders like Churchill- "He's far from being on his knees"-, his anger about the men on the burning ship not being rescued hours after the missile hit, he's got a heart. And the coolest submarine captain ever. "Not yet, kameraden, not yet !" And the ending- always tears 🥺
