Eddie gets a service dog to help during his recovery from the demobat injuries and post recovery. The dog is super protective of him and barely lets other people get near without suddenly being on full alert. Except one day Steve comes over to Eddie's place with Dustin and the dog practically lights up, running over to him, tail wagging like crazy and jumping up and down to try and get his attention. Eddie is left sitting on the couch feeling amused, but ever so slighty betrayed.
"Good to know where I'd stand if Steve was the one threatening me." He jokes.
Of course Steve immediately bonds with the dog too, so now he's at Eddie's trailer almost every day bringing treats or offering to take the dog for walks with Eddie. Eddie is suffering because it's all too cute. Also he has to come to terms with the fact that he might be just a little jealous of his own dog for getting so much positive attention from Steve Harrington.
One evening Wayne even catches him side eyeing the dog as Steve drives away and saying, "I saw him first, you know."
steve excitedly sitting in eddie's lap while they make out, saying between delighted gasps he'd never been in someones lap like this before. eddie cards his fingers through steve's hair pulls back for a moment then smiles up at him, "that's a shame that you haven't before,everyone else was missing out, because you look so good there."

A/N: I did it :). Ok as previously stated I have never written this dynamic before so I open to all critiques and suggestions! I also set this in todays timeframe. I hope y'all enjoy.
