October is a big month for art challenges! From birdtober to linktober, peachtober to wisptober, and the dark-fantasy-themed cursed relics, here are some highlights from some of this month's art challenges. Join in if you like, there's still time :)
How much creechure can we fit in one post, you ask? Well, @artfight is upon us, and the Fossils and Crystals are having it out by depicting each other's original characters—so the answer is a lot of creechure. But maybe not enough?
Featuring lots of mutual appreciation (artists spending hours with each other's ideas!), incredible character design, and beautiful depictions thereof, take this as your invitation to get involved. You can sign up and start fighting (using your artistic talents), or simply enjoy the wealth of beautiful art styles and cool ocs coming to the fore. This is but a small selection, may you peruse the rest at your leisure.
It’s May. We’ve moved from the past to the present. Look at us go.
Some of us are going to need another week to come to terms with that fact. Meanwhile, some of you have been waiting, lurking in the shadows, hovering just behind the curtains of April, ready to jump out at May, your mer-art at the ready.
Please enjoy your second day of Mermay. And be sure to hit the merfolk bracket on your way out.
Behold! You’ve done it again. We want to take ‘em all home and give 'em treats and wrap 'em up warm. Keep an eye on your dash on Monday to see the whole menagerie in full swing! And never fear. We’ll still share your dazzling costume creations in the afterglow of Halloween proper next Tuesday.
This is already the final week of the Build a Beast challenge, but it’s also never too late to build a beast—here’s a reminder of week 1, week 2, and week 3 templates for your convenience. And here's this week’s. Happy conjuring!
This last week, you’ve delved into the deep caves and climbed the tall towers of your imagination, and pulled some inspiring, some cozy, and some truly gruesome settings to the fore (which we won’t be including here but you can go hunt yourselves over here). Here’s a little stroll through the weirdest township you ever did see.
@saroko-still-draws: “they enslave the tree, forcibly make it larger than it should be, and drain its magic for their convenience.” Lovely!
The best thing about watching all your delightfully ghastly beasties come out of the woodwork is seeing how their horrors endear you. Please enjoy this host of vile varmints, and please, we beseech you, click through to read about them and follow along. Where do they dwell? That’s for this week to determine. Stay tuned.
