See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

thetrekkiehasthephonebox asked:

Hey there! I wanted to suggest a NSFW Schedule function alongside the current Mature Content toggles. Ideally, we'd be able to select times when such content could be blurred (say working hours) and then content would be unblurred outside of that. Is this something that could be developed? Thanks!

Answer: Hey there, @thetrekkiehasthephonebox!

A scheduling feature for NSFW content is a creative idea, and it’s great to hear how you would like to personalize your experiences.

Right now, we’re focused on making the Mature Content toggles as simple and effective as possible for the majority of the community. While a scheduling option could be useful for some, we’ve found that most folks prefer more straightforward controls. This helps experience remain intuitive and easy to manage.

That said, we always want to hear your feedback. If we see more interest in scheduled controls in the future, we’ll definitely consider it. So please keep sharing your thoughts—they help us shape the best possible experience for everyone.

Keep the questions coming, folks.

amtva asked:

Please consider adding the ability to edit comments (replies) on Tumblr posts — even if only for a short period after posting (like 5–10 minutes). It would help users fix typos or clarify thoughts without having to delete and repost the entire comment.

Answer: Hey there @amtva!

Thanks for your question. It’s a good idea, and it’s certainly possible!

Such a feature would certainly require a bit of love, time, and effort, but it’s doable—and we would love to see it happen as well. It would make a useful enhancement to replies. Limiting time would make sense, as you suggest—many similar apps only permit such a feature for a short time.

Leave this with us, for now. We will definitely take a look into it—it might make for an ideal Hack Day project! Keep an eye here at @wip and @changes for updates.

Have a great day!

Would love to see basic formatting in replies and messages — plain text in 2025 just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Answer: Hello @amtva!

A little good news for you. We want to do it, and we are currently working on replies. We’ve got quite the to-do list right now, so there is no concrete timeline as yet—but it’s recognized among the team that replies can be improved, and we plan on getting to it soon.

Watch this space! You’ll get updates here at @wip or @changes. Thanks for your question, and keep them coming.

pinkcat13 asked:

Can you add Apple Music support for posting tracks and albums

Answer: Hey, @pinkcat13!

Thanks for your question! We received something similar from @australmixing recently, who asked:

Hi, would you finally support MIXCLOUD player to be embed? why Soundcloud is supported and not Mixcloud?, they are practically “the same”.

Both of these sure would be nice, but they are not a priority right now, unfortunately. But we thought we would put it to you in a poll:

What music streaming service would you like to see on Tumblr?

Apple Music

Mixcloud

Amazon Music

TIDAL

Deezer

SiriusXM

Other (reply in comments and reblogs!)

antiadvil asked:

Hey it would be very cool if we could turn off colored text and custom blog backgrounds because some of them are genuinely impossible for me to read

Answer: Hi, @antiadvil!

Good news. You can turn these off! You can do so in your dashboard settings. You can enable a blog’s custom colors in the blog view (e.g. https://www.tumblr.com/staff) but, if disabled, all blogs will be shown using your selected palette’s colors instead.

Thanks for your question. Keep them coming!

inkloin asked:

Will formatting for code snippets or code blocks ever be a thing? I would love to make posts about various themes and coding stuff and the ability to insert code snippets would help a lot.

Answer: Hi @inkloin!

A few of you have asked this, or something similar! Unfortunately, this would be pretty difficult to implement right now. That said, we would love this—it would be nice to have. So we would love to know what other posts blocks you all would find helpful? Let us know in the comments and reblogs, and you’ll get any updates here or at @changes.

Thank you for your question, and please keep them coming.

gotta-get-that-pma asked:

Hiiii I hope you're all holding on out there and have yummy drinks and soft pets on your laps! I've got a question: On the search page, where it shows previews of posts below each trending tag, I used to be able to tap those images and be taken straight to the posts they came from. Now it just takes me to the tag in general, which is unhelpful. Is this a bug, or is it a feature that was removed? Because it makes me sad and I would like it back. :/

Answer: Hi, @gotta-get-that-pma!

Thanks for your question. We thought we had fixed this in the past but have now found, after testing, that you’re right: it is broken on both iOS and Android. So we can say that this issue is not at all expected and as soon as we find the time, we will fix it. This would also be a good opportunity to gently remind folks to send these to our Support team in the future.

Now to the more important business: pets on laps for your eyes only, and an invitation to you all to send us your pets on laps.

iluxurycruisedthatship asked:

When will we have a feature (1) to disable GIFs autoplay that works for both web and app, and (2) notification for anonymous ask? Like I've using this proud product of Tumblr that I love only for me to realize that there's no notification that tells me my anonymous asks have been answered. How am I supposed to track dozens of anon asks I sent? :")

Answer: Hello, @iluxurycruisedthatship.

We’ll answer your questions one at a time. The option to disable auto-playing GIFs has been available on mobile for a long time! You can find it in your settings, and then to general settings. From here, you will see media auto-play—click here, and select “Never auto-play.”

On Web, we respect the browser’s setting, and the location varies wildly based on the browser—as does the functionality. For example, some disable auto-play for all media, and others disable only for videos. In short, on Web, it’s up to the browser, and there are many browsers.

As with many things, notifications for anonymous asks, while a good idea, is not something we have the bandwidth to work on at the moment—even though we agree it’s easy to miss an answered anonymous ask you’ve sent. We would encourage you to follow the blogs you’re asking, and maybe subscribe for notifications for the blog while you’re waiting for the answer.

We hope that helps, and thanks for your question.

jellycaustic asked:

The new search operators are very useful! But I keep forgetting the syntax, so I think it would be nice to have a way to quickly reference the operators while I'm searching, without having to open the help center or the original announcement post every time. Perhaps a ℹ️ icon at the right side of the search bar, which could be hovered/clicked to get a tooltip quickly listing the search operators?

Answer: Hey, @jellycaustic!

Good question. Sometimes, we also forget the operators!

This would be great to have, so if we have the bandwidth and time to look into this, then we will for sure. Keep your eyes on @changes for now—if there are any updates on this, you will get them here.

u5eername asked:

will there / is there an option to hide yourself while scrolling on the "following" tab cause its really annoying [following as in relation to the "fyp" and "trending" tab]

Answer: Hey there, @wordsverbat1m!

We don’t support this, sorry. However, we do support auto-following your side blogs as a Labs feature. You can find the option right here under “Inside Tumblrs”.

If your posts from your sideblog are annoying you can disable that option, but you cannot unfollow your own blog. This is because seeing your own posts on the Following feed is a standard practice and a way to show that your posts are being published.

We hope that helps, and thanks for your question. Keep them coming!
